54th Annual Nashville Advertising Awards

Music City Center

This award season we’re celebrating the 54th annual Nashville American Advertising Awards on Saturday, March 2, 2019 at the Music City Center in Nashville!

With over 400 attendees and almost 200 awards, it’s the biggest advertising event in Middle Tennessee each year. The awards showcases Nashville’s creative talent and recognizes the best advertising work of the past year. The American Advertising Awards in Nashville wraps up a busy week that is officially designated at Nashville Advertising Week. This gala finale will recognize the Nashville ADDY winners, AAF Silver Medalist, and this year's Legacy Award winner.

The American Advertising Awards are the advertising industry’s largest and most representative competition, attracting over 40,000 entries every year in local competitions. The Nashville American Advertising Awards rank as one of the largest local competitions among nearly 200 competitions held across the country. It is the first of a three-tier, national competition conducted annually by the American Advertising Federation (AAF). Concurrently, all across the country, local entrants vie for recognition as the very best in their markets. At the second tier, local winners compete against other winners from cities in Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi and other cities in Tennessee, which is one of 14 District competitions.

Attendee Information

Because of an event at Bridgestone Arena, all parking at the Music City Center tomorrow night will be pre-pay. You may want to consider using Uber or Lyft, especially if you’re headed out after the awards.
The Music City Center, located on 6th Avenue and Demonbreun, offers fee-based parking and is directly across from the south entrance to Bridgestone Arena. Although there are three entrances to the garage, the most convenient parking is through the P3 entrance on Demonbreun or the P2 entrance on 6th Avenue between Demonbreun and Korean Veterans Boulevard.
When leaving the garage, proceed to the Music City Center entrance located at the corner of 6th Avenue and Demonbreun. Follow the signs to the Karl Dean Grand Ballroom.

Officially, we say "cocktail attire," but that means everything from funky to dressy. We're celebrating creative excellence, so don't be afraid to flaunt your creativity!

A delicious plated dinner will be served. The menu includes Baby Iceberg Wedge, with Bell Pepper Confetti, Applewood Smoked Bacon, Diced Cucumbers, Oven Dried Tomatoes, Parmesan Pinwheel, Crumble Blue Cheese Dressing The entrée is Red Wine Braised Airline Chicken Breast with Onions, Mushrooms, Carrots, and Garlic Whipped Potatoes. Jack Daniels Chocolate Cake will be served for dessert.
Multiple bars will be located in the ballroom – each of them will accept cash or credit.

Viewing the Work

Our volunteers have put a lot of time and effort into displaying this year’s winning entries. All physical entries are displayed with ID cards letting you know who’s responsible for it. One of our sponsors, NovaTech, has printed a screen shot of the interactive, digital and broadcast winners with a QR code so you can use your phone to view and listen to them.

Presentation of Awards

Out of professional courtesy for our winners and the occasion, we request that everyone be seated for dinner and remain seated throughout the awards presentation.

Again this year we will be presenting the awards by company.  When we recognize your company, we invite you all to come up on stage to receive all of your awards at once.  We'll make a group photo on stage but then also ask that you stop by the backdrop for a photo as well.  Photos from the event will be available on our Flickr page after the event.

This year the Silver Medal award presentation will be returning to our ADDY night festivities. The highest honor offered by AAF, the Silver Medal Award was established in 1959 to recognize men and women who have made outstanding contributions to advertising and who have been active in furthering the industry's standards, creative excellence and responsibility in areas of social concern.

Photographer Dusty Draper will again be joining us to snap photos during the event and of each award presentation. Photos will be available for you to view and download on our Flickr page beginning on Monday.
