
2026/27 Board Nominations The Board of Directors will consist of a President, Vice President, Secretary/Treasurer, Communications Chair, Programs Chair, Awards Chair, Membership Chair and Student Engagement Chair. The elected Board will collectively run the day-to-day business affairs of the club, initiate opportunities for member gatherings, integrate with area schools and universities and more. AAF Nashville Board of Directors Duties and Responsibilities
The positions the Board is seeking to fill are:
VICE PRESIDENT (2 year term)
Supports President in membership activities and stands in the leadership role when President is not
present. Also represents AAF Nashville in AAF District 7 events. Assists Chairs to facilitate respective
program activities. May elect to move to President seat once the term has been satisfied.
SECRETARY/TREASURER (2 year term)
Manages the payment of submitted invoices. Works with Club CPA for annual tax reporting and financial
monthly closing by CPA. Prepares financial update reports for each Board meeting. Manages the billing
and collections of membership dues. Creates program budgets for Chairs so as to keep the Club
financially sound.
STUDENT ENGAGEMENT CHAIR (1 year term)
Serves as a resource for area colleges and universities through events such as the Student Advertising
Awards Show, educational tours, seminars, portfolio reviews and mentoring opportunities. SE Chair also is
responsible for coordinating and managing the Student Next Move conference held annually.
MEMBERSHIP CHAIR (1 year term)
Dedicates time to growing AAFN's membership with on-going recruitment efforts throughout the Nashville
advertising community while ensuring current members are receiving the most from their membership.
AWARDS CHAIR (1 year term)
Leads the Club’s efforts for the annual awards competition usually held in January/February of each year.
Works with agencies to explain the rules of the competition. Selects judges from AAF National pool for
judging of the professional awards + selects local judges for the student competition. Manages the activity
involved during the judging period and leads the discussion during the judging completion for the
superlative awards named. The Awards Chair will also communicate to the winning agencies regarding
what they won in the competition and notifies all other entrants should they not win an award. Even
though the whole Board works collectively to host the awards show, the Awards Chair is responsible for
managing the events of the show.
